What is a CompTIA CDIA+ (Certified Document Imaging Architect)?
CompTIA’s Certified Document Imaging Architect+ (CDIA+) certification is an internationally-recognized credential acknowledging competency and professionalism in the document management / document imaging industry. A CompTIA CDIA+ individual is a technology professional that possesses the requisite level of knowledge and expertise to successfully plan, specify and design an imaging solution, and demonstrates that knowledge by passing the CompTIA CDIA+ examination.
A CompTIA CDIA+ professional is also a specially-trained individual who designs and implements solutions for the capture, storage, retrieval and manipulation of office documents. It is the CompTIA CDIA+ certified individual who will be on the leading edge of the ‘paperless’ society.
Who should become CompTIA CDIA+ certified?
The CompTIA CDIA+ training program is not limited to just computer professionals. However, a good knowledge of computers, computing systems, networks and computer software is necessary for the imaging professional to design document imaging solutions.
Anyone who is involved or is planning to get involved in the purchase, sale, planning of, set-up, installation, design, assessment, evaluation, determination, configuration, testing or understanding of the hardware and software of a document imaging system should become a CompTIA CDIA+ certified professional.
Why do I need the CompTIA CDIA+ Training Course?
Your company needs a better way to handle the large volumes of paper documents it has. Someone has heard of some sort of ‘imaging system’ that will handle millions of pages, instantaneously, reliably and at an affordable price. Perhaps, you personally have been assigned to uncover the real truth.
Well, there is some truth in the above scenario, and some fiction. The best way to start out on such a task is to “never leave home without it” – fundamental imaging knowledge that is. The common, level-headed kind needed to spar with potential vendors who are out to convince you that you need exactly what they sell. This same knowledge will be used to interview the ‘end-users’ to see what the need actually is. Let’s not forget the IT staff (“will it run on MY network?”) and corporate management (“cool, but how much is it?”). This is the challenge you will face. If properly prepared, you will surmount this challenge.
A few reasons why a professional should have a CompTIA CDIA+ certification are the following:
To become CompTIA CDIA+ certified you must pass the written exam. No prerequisites are needed to take the CDIA+ exam, just the experience and knowledge to pass.
Exam Information
The CompTIA CDIA+ exam consists of 85 questions to be completed in 90 minutes. The CDIA+ exam is graded on a scale of 100 to 900. The minimum passing score is 700. Test results are displayed as soon as you complete the exam.
Exam Locations & Registration
Both Pearson VUE and Prometric testing centers administer CompTIA CDIA+ certification exams. The CDIA+ exam code is 225-020.
